OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: Relief and relaxation, paradise Egyptian style. Sweet sandalwood and two ambers, a touch of wood for reeds, and a kiss of golden musk, black pepper married with a drop of labdanum and this conjures the eternal happy golden light in which the elect must have bathed every day. A smooth and resinous sweet blend but with enough of the spice kick of a modern perfume to escape being downright primative.

BEFORE I SMELL: The scent of Aaru the Heaven for the Ancient Egyptians. Filled with Reeds which are something like papyrus if I am not mistaken.

This poppet was sent to me as a freeby. Black pepper doesn't always work for me but I am wondering how reeds smell and how Heavenly this is.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Black pepper, lots of resins and something slightly medicinal.

WET ON SKIN: The black pepper is very well blended and it doesn't overpower the blend so fear not! The labdanum and the sandalwood are the stars of the show. It's not a green scent, at least on me. It's very woody, unisex and resinous.

DRY DOWN: The musks and the woods are so beautiful when the black pepper eventually goes away. It's almost like this one has a drop of vanilla in it.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Full bottle without a question!

RAVEN MOON-BPAL

PERFUME: Raven Moon 2012

COMPANY: BPAL

AVAILABILITY: Limited edition

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION:Mournful and Never-ending Remembrance: shining, moonlit ebony musk with benzoin, myrrh, smoky vanilla, patchouli, nutmeg, and dried red chili.

BEFORE I SMELL: I am a huge fun of E.A.Poe and I love Ravens. I wish we had ravens in Greece as well... The notes sound interesting as well especially the dried red chili.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Spicy patchouli and deep raisins.

WET ON SKIN: Nutmeg is the strongest note. The red chili note is similar from the scent that you get when you are opening a vase of dried chilies and not the hotness that you are getting while eating them. The patchouli is lovely, is the variety which I love. In my opinion is a little bit masculine and definitely something that Poe would wear!

The myrrh and the benzoin are definitely there and my boyfriend thought that I smelt like incense and he really liked it.

DRY DOWN:Still no vanilla.. It isn't so strong as I was expecting from a heavy on the patchouli scent. It remains smokey and resinous.

FINAL THOUGHTS:I really like it, I will keep my decant but I don't think I will hunt a full bottle.

FAE-BPAL

Hi! I am finally to my new home in a neighbor that I always wanted to live with my man and my beautiful and a little bit spoiled dog! Moving was exhausting for me and very expensive. Thank God I have stocked up on perfume, scrubs and body creams because I don't think I can afford any in the near future!

I really miss you guys, reading your blogs and leaving comments.

I will continue my small perfume reviews because I really enjoy doing them!

PERFUME: Fae

COMPANY: BPAL

AVAILABILITY: General Catalog- Bewitching Brews

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION:A brilliant, ethereal scent: white musk, bergamot, heliotrope, peach and oakmoss

BEFORE I SMELL: I had tried this one before and the peach was overpowering on my skin. I found the imp again and I put it on because I wanted a light and summery scent for the day.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: I get the bergamot and the peach notes the most. I really like that sourness from the bergamot let's see if that aspect of the perfume stays on my skin.

WET ON SKIN: The sourness goes away and the peach is now stronger. It's a very nice peach note and not the fake one. I love lab's white musk note and I love it here as well. It fits the ethereal part of the perfume too! When I read ethereal in a scent description my mind goes immediately to musks.

I don't think I can recognize the heliotrope here but I maybe there is another citrus note as well.

The oakmoss rounds the blend and gives an earthy vibe to the whole

DRY DOWN: This perfume stays close to the skin but is easy to wear and perfect for HOT weather. Longevity is medium to low, approximately 2 hours on me.

FINAL THOUGHTS: I am not sure yet if I want a bottle to slather when is hot outside and I want something fruity and light.
