Summer Favorites!

Hi guys! I know it had been ages since I updated this blog and I really missed blogging and sharing my thoughts so here it goes: Summer Favorites 2014!

This year my Boyfriend and I went to Romania for a summer vacation, so a lot of products are things that I loved during our trip there. We had wonderful time and yes we have visited The Dracula’s castle!

Satsuma body sorbet and Shower gel from the Body Shop

There is not better thing after a long day sightseeing and walking around than to take a shower and then apply cold from the fridge this body sorbet. It’s very refreshing and revitalizing. I really enjoyed it.

I totally recommend it for people who don’t like the greasy-oily feeling that some body lotion and 

body butters have.

Tea tree Skin Clearing Toner-The body Shop

In summer my skin tends to be more oily than usual so I picked that up to help me clear my face and I love it! I love the tea tree toner from Lush too but we don’t have a shop here. My bottle is almost over. In fact between the two I may prefer the Body Shop one.

Tecnoskin-Total Beauty Face Cream CC

This was a gift and it totally worked for me. I didn’t know this brand before and I will definitely check them out in the future as well. The consistency is light and it didn’t break me out. The color was perfect for my skin, at first I thought that it would be dark but it adapts to my natural color, not full coverage but it does make the skin glowing and gives an even tone.

I love this because you don’t have to use a lot of products. It’s a moisturizer, a sun block and it has a light color to it as well.

 Apivita Refreshing Body milk with Fig and Aloe

Another gift from my Mom this time! With 91% natural ingredients this body milk moisturizes very well and sinks in quick. Usually I don’t like figs in perfume or bath and body products but this has a spa like quality and it just smell clean and refreshing so I used it so much this summer it’s almost over!

Korres Blush Stick in Pink

Lately, I have started to wear blush and I love how I look with a little something on my cheeks. This was easy to  wear, suitable for traveling and I got a set with 3 colours for almost 10 euro. You can beat that!

Heroine lipstick-MAC

This is one of my favorite lipsticks for day wear. I am so glad this is permanent because this summer I wore it almost every day!

Perfumes

Brit by Burberry

Another gift! Now you know that I don’t wear designer perfumes because I prefer the handmade perfume oils so , I kept this on my closet. Then, I was in need for something refreshing and fruity after the Satsuma sorbet and I remember it!

Notes (from Sephora):
Italian Lime, Icy Pear, Green Almond, White Peony, Sugared Almonds, Amber, Mahogany, Vanilla, Tonka Bean

On me it’s like a lime and pear sugar candy with a bit of powder underneath. If you want a work friendly pick me up scent this is it.

Bridal Veil by Possets

Orange blossom, neroli, and the scent of silk woven into the most sheer of chiffon.

I love neroli and orange blossoms. Even when I have the real blooms on my hands in the spring I can smell them from hours. They just make me happy!

This perfume has the same effect on me. It’s a simple blend but so well made. One of my favorite Possets perfumes!

MAY-JUNE EMPTIES POST!

1)      Appivita shampoo samples.

 I love appivita shampoos as I have stated before. The lavender one is my favorite. High quality shampoos guys, if you are looking for a good shampoo I highly recommend them

2)      Haus of Gloi sugar exfoliants in Odette and in Hearth.

I really liked both of them and I love HoG scrubs in general but I will choose a different scent next time.

      3)   Haus of Gloi pumpkin butter in Sweet Potato pie.

I have talked about these products in my HoG collection post.

      4) Make me Smooth She She Poo and She she Dish( Shampoo and Conditioner)                            in Bathing beauty scent.

I love the scent but I hated the products. They made my hair very dry and not easy to detangle afterwards. I am glad I finally finished them!

      5)MMS Layers body cream in Black Sphinx.

I love the scent and I have review it here. The body cream is really nice as well. It lasted on my skin for 24h no Joke!

     6) Avon Anew eye cream.

This is the eye cream I am using. It’s very nice nothing spectacular but it does the job!

It is divided in two parts one for the day with SPF and one for the night.

7) Korres face mask.

8) Avene Gentle purifying scrub sample.

I am thinking of buying a full size of this in the future. It is really gentle and my skin is so sensitive that I can’t handle well other scrubs. So this is a Winner!

9) L&L Tahitian Treasure Shampoo.

This works well as the other shampoos from L&L. It is lightly scented and it doesn’t foam as much but if you buy am all natural product you expect it. I don’t think I will buy it again as I prefer the other shampoos that she has. I love to pick different scents from her scent menu!

10)Honey and Jojoba Conditioner in Pumpkin Peeps

Mmmm this is delicious smelling! Sweet and lightly spiced.

I need more stuff in this scent.

11)Olive and Honey shampoo in White pumpkin

I love this too. It’s similar to the Pumpkin peeps scent.

The combination made my hair smelling incredible!

12) Cocoa Pink Argan therapy conditioner in Smashed pumpkins.

Guys this scent is to die for! I need to stock up with products in this scent!

It’s hard to wait until Halloween..

13) Mini Sorbettos from the paintbox soapworks company!

The consistency of this scrub is great. Scrubby and foamy and thick. Definitely I am going to buy more from her!

The scents:

 Punkie night: Frothy steamed pumpkin milk spiked with rowdy cloves, jittery black tea & a rasp of cinnamon bark

This one is heavy on the black tea and the spicies. Yummy and different from the majority of pumpkin scents.

Indian Summer:Golden amber & heaps of freshly mown hay strewn with windfall peaches & the last of the summer’s blackberries.

I thought that this would be my least favorite but it’s the perfect scent for a scrub. It’s fresh smelling and it layers well with other scents. I really enjoy it mainly at the mornings

Guy Fawkes:Penny for the Guy! Sticky parkin & roasted apples washed down with a bottle of oatmeal stout, a waft of smoke & a shower of sparks on the night air.
This remind me of HoG Hearth but smokier. I don’t get the stout so much but it’s a nice apple scent.

14) L&L body yogurt in Honeyed  Pumpkin.
This is like a combination of Honey I washed the kids with pumpkin. Very nice scent. Sweet and girly.
15) L&L Body lotion in Vampire kiss
Black Plum, raspberry, vanilla, peony, amber, musk and spun sugar

Wow this was very sugary, Even stranger commented that I was smelling sweet, Sugar and plum are the main notes of this blend. I liked it.

16) L&L Triple twist sugar scrub sample
I love her winter scents and I have several in full size products. Tis was very convenient for travelling.

17) Flutterby beauty Spellbound Silky body oil.
Another company who is closed. This body oil is a combination of dry oils and moisturising ones and I really like it as a post shower moisturiser when I am in a hurry. The scent lasts all day too. I still have some bottles left..
This one was an Amber and white flowers. It went well with a lot of my perfume oils.

18) Crater Lake Company sugar fluff in visions of Sugar plum

The scent: vanilla, treacle, brown sugar, oat flour, white spices, roasted chestnut and icing.
I am in love with this and I have only the body cream left… Goes very well with Bordello from Bpal. I am wear this together and I am in heaven!!!!!

My February empties!

1)  Korres- POMEGRANATE

MOISTURISING CREAM-GEL

For oily to combination skin , 16ml

This was included in a sample set with other products in the pomegranate range. I really like this. It’s a light enough for combination skin like mine but it doesn’t dry out mu skin. It hasn’t spf  in it and I used it as a night cream or when I stayed at home all day!

2) Cocoa pink- Voluptuous body butter in Tihota type 2.75oz

I love this moisturizer! It’s not greasy but it sinks in fast. Perfect for winter and for dry legs!

The scent is light but it stays all day on my skin. It’s like a slightly toast vanilla.

It worked well with most of my perfumes too!

3) Bptp bath oil  decant 1oz- L'EAU DE L'ENGOUEMENT

4) Apivita- Purifying Tonic Lotion for Oily/Combination Skin with propolis and citrus.

I love this lotion and I have already bought another one!

5) Flutterby beauty scrub in Lavender mint cupcake.

 Flutterby beauty was one of the companies that I was a regural customer in the past and I was so sad when she closed! I think this is the negative aspect to homemade products. Often the decide to close without notice…

This scent is lovely and I still have a little bit left from the perfume mist and the body oil.

6) Lathers and Lights Wicked Witch sugar scrub.

This is a spicy apple scent.

The scrub itself it’s moisturising without leaving an oily film to the skin.

It’s dense and scrubby. Very good!

7) Apivita- Anti-aging and energising shampoo with citrus and honey.

I liked this shampoo but I prefer others from their range. This one has SLS in it which I try to avoid as it is bad for the hair and I have noticed that I have healthier hair from the moment that I stopped using this ingredient.

8) Apivita tonic lotion with mastic and rose 1.7 oz

This one was a freebie with an order. I didn’t like it at all. It smell bad and it didn’t do anything to my skin.

9) RENE FURTERER- moisturising milk shampoo

This one was a sample too. I really like it. It felt so good in my hair but this also has SLS.

In addition to the "bad" ingredient it also has: safflower oil, carthamus oil, soybean oil, sweet orange oil etc So, maybe the SLS balances with all the beneficial ingredients. Who knows?

My first empties post!

I’ ve seen a lot of bloggers and youtubers making post like this and I’ve always enjoy watching them. So, I thought to make one too! In December I didn’t finish so many products but here are the ones I did!

1)      Avon, complete balance oil-free foaming cleanser

I really like this product and it’s the second bottle I finish. It’s not a miracle product but it does the job!

It’s a foaming cleanser so it’s super easy to use and removes all the dirt from my face.

To be franc, I am using all the other products for this range. The day cream and the night cream. If you have a combination skin type I definitely recommend these products. They are cheap and they work. At least for me!

2)      Apivita, Shampoo for oily hair with propolis and rosemary.

I love Apivita. It’s one of my favorite companies! Sometimes, when I run out from my indie shampoo and conditioners I buy from them. It’s nice to have a local brand you trust. Isn’t it?

This one is made with 97% natural ingredients. It’s not harsh with the hair at all. I have oily roots sometime and this totally helps! I don’t have a major problem thought so I can’t comment of how it perform in very oily hair. I have bought it many times, I can’t even remember…

I really like the scent too. It’s a bergamot and rosemary scent. It doesn’t stay on my hair but I use scented conditioners.

If you haven’t tried Apivita shampoos you are missing big time!

3)      Lathers and Lights, Pumpkin harvest sugar scrub

I bought the pumpkin set this Halloween and this was included. Sea butter, pumpkinseed oil and extract, sunflower oil and cocoa butter are some of the ingredients she used. This is a moisturizing scrub and feels very good to the skin.

The notes of the scent were: Pumpkin, earth ,mist. I don’t get  earthy notes just pumpkin.

I really liked the scrub formula but I like other scents of hers best.

4)      Shine+ in Black Vanilla

This was a very generous sample from my Halloween order. I really liked the product and the scent! I love her black scents in general. I think that her black is a mixture of ambers. I got a lot of compliments when I wore this conditioner too!

5)      Lathers and Lights, Pumpkin Noel Body Cream

Another item from my Halloween sample set!  This has aloe vera, pumpkin seed  oil and kokum butter among other ingredients. I really like the texture of this! It moisturized my body very well! I used it after the pumpkin scrub. Then I used my marshmallow Pumpkin body oil from Coacoa Pink and then this. The scent it;s light but after all these products I smelled edible! Of course I have a pumpkin perfume to go with all these! Pumpkin Peeps from Possets!
