 OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: Apples, Pumpkin, Butternut Squash, Roasted Chestnuts, Spices.

This sample is sitting in my collection for some years now, so I thought to write a review and used it up. Unfortunately, is only available in home fragrance oil due to the amount of spices I believe.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Spiced apples and pumpkin. In other words, a typical autumnal scent.

WET ON SKIN:  That’s spicy! Cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. The pumpkin is more pronounced now.

DRY DOWN: This is a very strong scent. I put it last night before bed and I could still smell it this morning. It’s cozy, warm and spicy and sometimes you just need that. After 30 minutes I smell the chestnut note. I love chestnut in perfumes (I love eating them too!)

Verdict: Lovely apple spice perfume. I am thinking of buying the home fragrance oil if it isn’t too expensive. I want my house to smell baking goods, it is making me feeling relaxed but also a little bit hungry!

PERFUME: Capezzoli di Venere

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: Oh the ecstasy! If you ever saw Amadeus, you would know what I am alluding to*. The fabulous confection from Italy with all the whimsy that country can muster, and that would be mighty. Start with a perfectly roasted chestnut for a smooth and proper base for the softer things to come. Around that wrap ganache made of buttercream and gardenia kissed mocha which will melt your heart as it expires from love in your mouth. Enrobe with bitter dark chocolate. Die from love.

*Capezzoli di Venere translates into "Nipples of Venus"

BEFORE I SMELL: I didn’t know that there was that kind of confection in Italy. I love Italian desserts and I have been to the country several times but I have never seen it. Maybe next time! I love that they have a dessert inspired by the nipples of Venus. In fact, in Roman and Greek antiquity it wasn’t rare for the people to make similar themed foods to offer to the Gods of Love and prosperity.

I was intrigued by the gardenia kissed mocha note as well. I love the combination of foodie with floral!

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: From the decant  I get mocha, chestnut and ganache! Yum!

WET ON SKIN: The mocha is not so strong. I don’t like coffee in perfume ( with some exceptions) and this doesn’t bother me.

DRY DOWN: It doesn’t change a lot. I believe the gardenia is used to round the scent and to not let it be so sweet. Brilliant! It also reminds me of cannoli ( a Sicilian pastry dessert witch is one of my desserts!)

FINAL THOUGHTS: I Want a bottle of this1 I am so relieved that is permanent!
