 OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: Apples, Pumpkin, Butternut Squash, Roasted Chestnuts, Spices.

This sample is sitting in my collection for some years now, so I thought to write a review and used it up. Unfortunately, is only available in home fragrance oil due to the amount of spices I believe.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Spiced apples and pumpkin. In other words, a typical autumnal scent.

WET ON SKIN:  That’s spicy! Cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. The pumpkin is more pronounced now.

DRY DOWN: This is a very strong scent. I put it last night before bed and I could still smell it this morning. It’s cozy, warm and spicy and sometimes you just need that. After 30 minutes I smell the chestnut note. I love chestnut in perfumes (I love eating them too!)

Verdict: Lovely apple spice perfume. I am thinking of buying the home fragrance oil if it isn’t too expensive. I want my house to smell baking goods, it is making me feeling relaxed but also a little bit hungry!

Haus Of Gloi-Pumpkin Eater & Old Cider Haus

Happy Fall Everyone!

It’s my favorite season of the year again! Some people may say that autumn makes them feeling depressing or sad but for me it’s the opposite. Rain, cold temperatures and wind make me happy!  

So, I’ve started wearing fall and Halloween scents again. Today I have small reviews from two Haus Of Gloi perfumes ( Pumpkin Eater and Old Cider Haus) which I have bought maybe 2 or 3 years ago in a sample size. They are almost over now but I used the last drops just to share my opinion.

By the way the most of their products in their site are sold out. I’ve tried to buy some Pumpkin Queen Pumpkin Butter and I believe that they are going to restock everything this weekend along with new fall scents. I hope I will have best luck this time around because I NEED more Pumpkin Queen in my life!

Pumpkin Eater: Cream, glowing pumpkin, rich vanilla bean and the tiniest touch of nutmeg butter.

When I first got this I thought it will be a vanilla and pumpkin scent but to my nose it smells like peaches and cream with freshly grated nutmeg on top. Weird

The spice it’s light and well blended. After a couple of minutes I get pumpkin but that note it’s like that deep roasted pumpkin note that you get when you actually roast a pumpkin in the oven.

Over all this is nice but not something I will buy full size, also I found it similar to other fall inspired perfumes like Pumpkin Wench from Lathers and Lights which I own a full bottle.

Old Cider Haus: Old oak, sweet drying hay fields, crushed apple pulp and vanilla bean husks.

This one is very autumn like. Hay,  sweet apples and a hint of spice hidden away.

Usually I don’t like apple perfumes but this one is enjoyable. In my opinion this is best in a sugar scrub or other bath products at least for me. It reminds me a candle a little bit so, I don’t need a bottle of this either.

HALLOWEEN PERFUMES! Nocturne Alchemy- Sarcophagus

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION:Sweet Cinnamon, Clove, Allspice, Blueberry, Apples, Amber, Pumpkin

I don't know which year is this. I bought it for 5 dollars from live journal! Nocturne Alchemy isn't a company I usually buy my perfumes mainly because of the shipping cost. The most of the times, I am interested in just one or two bottles and they don't ship first class. I really like what I have tested from them though.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Tart blueberries and apples. Light spices. Fruity and fresh!

WET ON SKIN: Sweet cinnamon over baked apples and pumpkin, served in a bowl with fresh blueberries. It's an early autumn fruity scent. The spices aren't overpowering and they let the fruits shine.

DRY DOWN:It doesn't morph much. It stays fruity all the way with a touch of spice!

FINAL THOUGHTS: It's a morning scent for me. I really like it and this made me realize that I don't have enough fruity scents in my collection!

HALLOWEEN PERFUMES! Pumpkin Face Down In the Gutter

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION:Has the pumpkin landed face down in the gutter? Has he reached rock bottom? Judging from the smell of him, he is in deep deep trouble. Pumpkin, black pepper, black cinnamon, sandalwood, tomato leaf. yes, he is beyond the help of any programs no matter how well meaning. He is one of The Beautiful and The Damned.

BEFORE I SMELL: A dirty pumpkin! I am in:)

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: This is atmospheric and very autumnal from the imp. Dirt, tomato leaf, spices and warm pumpkin. The cinnamon is the strongest note but it isn't the foody kind.

WET ON SKIN: Fresh pumpkin flesh and pepper. The tomato leaf it's a beautiful note and very unique with pumpkin. I get the sandalwood too. Actually, I am getting all the notes listed!

DRY DOWN:The spices calm down and I am left with pumpkin and sandalwood. Sometimes this blend can be overpowering to me so I put just a little bit. I love it especially when the weather is starts to chill and it feels like the rain will start in any minute. The scent of the real earth combined with the scent of this perfume it's magical!

FINAL THOUGHTS: I think my poppet is enough for now because I am wearing this for the experience the most. From the other hand, if they have a Retour again and I can afford it I may buy a bottle because it's aging amazing too.

HALLOWEEN PERFUMES! Mischief-Bpal

In anticipation of the Halloween update from Bpal and from other indie companies I have decided to revisit my autumnal-Halloween scents!

I love this time of the year it's actually my favorite. September it's my birthday month as well so from my childhood I have always waited for this month to come. I kind of hate Summer and hot weather so Autumn is my perfect season!

I love the color of the trees and smell in the air the start of the new season the first rain... All of it!

My addiction to perfumes introduced me to America's tradition of this season as well. When I first saw in the Cocoa's Pink's site that they had pumpkin perfumes it was so weird for me because we don't have that kind of perfumes here in Greece and we don't eat pumpkin so much or when we do we make savory pies instead of sweet one.

My first order with pumpkin stuff was from Cocoa Pink as well and it was a pumpkin set for the hair. From that moment I knew I found a new favorite note and I understood why so many people go crazy for pumpkins.

Then I learned how to make a pumpkin puree from scratch, keeping it in refrigerator and how to make cookies, cheesecakes, pies and all that stuff. This year I may make even a soap with pumpkin!My family at first thought that I was crazy but now they really enjoy my pumpkin creations!

The lovely Rachel from the Brighter Star of All blog shared some Halloween themed blogs with me so I will try to decorate my home too! If I managed to make something nice I will definitely share with you! I think I will start with carving a pumpkin and feeling a little naughty with wearing Mischief from Bpal

PERFUME: Mischief

COMPANY: BPAL

AVAILABILITY: 2012 HALLOWEENIE!

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION:The scent of petty vandalism: toilet paper wads on damp maple trees, squished pumpkins, raw eggs, beer, pumpkin seed hulls, and soapy glass

BEFORE I SMELL: Now you don't reed that kind of perfume notes everyday and when you do it's highly possible that it has to do with BPAL!

Toilet paper, eggs, beef, soapy glass? Oh My !

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: From the imp it's hands down one of the weirder perfumes I have ever sniffed. Cucumber, pumpkins, something vaguely aquatic, sweetness (from the egg?) and a little bit of spice.

WET ON SKIN: That's better! I get the foodie elements more but with an cucumber edge! The damp maple leaves make this perfume very autumnal and it puts you immediately in the autumn spirit even though is still hot outside:(

The perfume description doesn't mention any flowers but it feels like there are some floral elements to the whole like violet or iris.

In that point, I smell the beer as well. A woody beer like someone spilled a bottle of beer in a tree.

DRY DOWN: Fresh pumpkin, a little bit soapy and not entirely sweet. The dry down is my favorite part of this perfume and worth the wait.

OVERALL: I have an imp and this is enough for me. I really enjoy wearing it but it's not for everyday.

MAY-JUNE EMPTIES POST!

1)      Appivita shampoo samples.

 I love appivita shampoos as I have stated before. The lavender one is my favorite. High quality shampoos guys, if you are looking for a good shampoo I highly recommend them

2)      Haus of Gloi sugar exfoliants in Odette and in Hearth.

I really liked both of them and I love HoG scrubs in general but I will choose a different scent next time.

      3)   Haus of Gloi pumpkin butter in Sweet Potato pie.

I have talked about these products in my HoG collection post.

      4) Make me Smooth She She Poo and She she Dish( Shampoo and Conditioner)                            in Bathing beauty scent.

I love the scent but I hated the products. They made my hair very dry and not easy to detangle afterwards. I am glad I finally finished them!

      5)MMS Layers body cream in Black Sphinx.

I love the scent and I have review it here. The body cream is really nice as well. It lasted on my skin for 24h no Joke!

     6) Avon Anew eye cream.

This is the eye cream I am using. It’s very nice nothing spectacular but it does the job!

It is divided in two parts one for the day with SPF and one for the night.

7) Korres face mask.

8) Avene Gentle purifying scrub sample.

I am thinking of buying a full size of this in the future. It is really gentle and my skin is so sensitive that I can’t handle well other scrubs. So this is a Winner!

9) L&L Tahitian Treasure Shampoo.

This works well as the other shampoos from L&L. It is lightly scented and it doesn’t foam as much but if you buy am all natural product you expect it. I don’t think I will buy it again as I prefer the other shampoos that she has. I love to pick different scents from her scent menu!

10)Honey and Jojoba Conditioner in Pumpkin Peeps

Mmmm this is delicious smelling! Sweet and lightly spiced.

I need more stuff in this scent.

11)Olive and Honey shampoo in White pumpkin

I love this too. It’s similar to the Pumpkin peeps scent.

The combination made my hair smelling incredible!

12) Cocoa Pink Argan therapy conditioner in Smashed pumpkins.

Guys this scent is to die for! I need to stock up with products in this scent!

It’s hard to wait until Halloween..

13) Mini Sorbettos from the paintbox soapworks company!

The consistency of this scrub is great. Scrubby and foamy and thick. Definitely I am going to buy more from her!

The scents:

 Punkie night: Frothy steamed pumpkin milk spiked with rowdy cloves, jittery black tea & a rasp of cinnamon bark

This one is heavy on the black tea and the spicies. Yummy and different from the majority of pumpkin scents.

Indian Summer:Golden amber & heaps of freshly mown hay strewn with windfall peaches & the last of the summer’s blackberries.

I thought that this would be my least favorite but it’s the perfect scent for a scrub. It’s fresh smelling and it layers well with other scents. I really enjoy it mainly at the mornings

Guy Fawkes:Penny for the Guy! Sticky parkin & roasted apples washed down with a bottle of oatmeal stout, a waft of smoke & a shower of sparks on the night air.
This remind me of HoG Hearth but smokier. I don’t get the stout so much but it’s a nice apple scent.

14) L&L body yogurt in Honeyed  Pumpkin.
This is like a combination of Honey I washed the kids with pumpkin. Very nice scent. Sweet and girly.
15) L&L Body lotion in Vampire kiss
Black Plum, raspberry, vanilla, peony, amber, musk and spun sugar

Wow this was very sugary, Even stranger commented that I was smelling sweet, Sugar and plum are the main notes of this blend. I liked it.

16) L&L Triple twist sugar scrub sample
I love her winter scents and I have several in full size products. Tis was very convenient for travelling.

17) Flutterby beauty Spellbound Silky body oil.
Another company who is closed. This body oil is a combination of dry oils and moisturising ones and I really like it as a post shower moisturiser when I am in a hurry. The scent lasts all day too. I still have some bottles left..
This one was an Amber and white flowers. It went well with a lot of my perfume oils.

18) Crater Lake Company sugar fluff in visions of Sugar plum

The scent: vanilla, treacle, brown sugar, oat flour, white spices, roasted chestnut and icing.
I am in love with this and I have only the body cream left… Goes very well with Bordello from Bpal. I am wear this together and I am in heaven!!!!!

ARCANA- Chicanery and Chimeras

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: The other side of the Knight of Cups. Delusions, hallucinations, phantasms, and nightmares. Empty blessings and beautiful curses.

Rich benzoin over a base of Madagascar vanilla, golden amber, salt water, clove, sweet musk, pumpkin, patchouli, and sugarcane.

BEFORE I SMELL: I admit it, I bought this because someone was selling it really cheap on Livejournal! I can’t resist a bargain especially if it’s a good smelling one!

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: When I smell this from the bottle I get a cologne and masculine vibe. A little bit boozy and very brown!

WET ON SKIN: It’s getting spicier; I am getting clove, all spice and nutmeg. It’s very well blended and the notes are not aggressive at all. I do get a salty note as well which is really interesting.

DRY DOWN: The cologne, masculine vibe mainly from the combination of benzoin and the clove it’s getting milder. I have to notice that in this perfume the different stages last very long and I was able to smell the base notes after half an hour or maybe more.

The wait it’s definitely worth it! Vanilla, amber and patchouli in combination with baked pumpkin! It’s not a foodie scent; it’s sophisticated and very attractive!

FINAL THOUGHTS: It took me more than a year to start liking this one but now I really like it and I am glad I bought a bottle!

Scent of the day-26-

Guys, I don’t only love perfumes but everything scented. Soaps, body butters, body oils, hair conditioners, body mists, scrubs. I love scrubs!

Today, I used a body oil from  Cocoa Pink.

The scent? Marshmallow Pumpkin

Generally, I love marshmallow scents. Even straight up marshmallow

I love this scent. It is sweet and snuggly. This can make you smell eatable for a long time. I usually use it before I go to bed. It calms me.

It isn’t as complex as other perfume oils but simplicity isn’t always a bad thing…

I don’t know if I will ever purchase this in a perfume form as the body oil does the trick but I am definitely buying a second bottle because I am almost out!

The price for this is incredible 5.5usd for 2oz!

It takes its time to be fully absorbed by the skin but who cares? I am going nowhere today. The buses are still on strike and I am feeling a little bit isolated in my small town.
