OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: Nestled in a mountain vale lies a small, quaint community with rustic buildings housing friendly, hardworking people. A special delight during the harsh and demanding winter season is the Sugarvale Candy Kitchen in the middle of town. Smoke billows profusely from the chimney of the confectioner's cabin. Aromas of candied pecans, butterscotch, buttered rum, brown sugar, maple syrup, hot pralines and milk chocolate cocoa fills the air across town, beckoning the inhabitants inside to warm cold bodies and empty tummy's alike.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Sweet, very sweet! I get the pecan right away and dulce de leche. Yes it’s for the ones with sweet tooth.

WET ON SKIN:  Butterscotch and rum. It reminds me Bpal’s Grog. The pralines make this one a little bit better in my opinion.

DRY DOWN: Sugarvale smells so real I almost taste the candied pecans. I don’t get any chocolate.

VERDICT: This is a simple sugar, rum and pecan scent. I think it will appeal to all foodie lovers. It would be great as a body lotion as well as the scent can be used for layering with other warm perfumes like vanilla, gingerbread or ever yummy pumpkin scents. If this will be available again, I am buying a bottle for when I am craving sugar

BPAL-GROG

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION:Arrr! Avast ye, matey! This be the scent of pirate rum!

BEFORE I SMELL: I didn't know what GROG meant when I received this. However, Bpal's description says it all the scent of pirate rum!

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Butter and rum. The vanilla note it's a little bit on the plastic side so, if you tend to amp “plastic” this one isn't for you. I also smell something like banana cream.

WET ON SKIN: This reminds me of eggnog but less spicy. On skin it's more buttery with a heavy shot of vanilla. It's warm and foodie but a little bit one dimensional. It would be great for layering purposes . To me it's not that boozy but more of a caramel foodie scent

DRY DOWN: This has a good staying power, three hours later I can still smell it but what's left it's more of a general sugary scent.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Nice but not amazing. I really want to taste the actual drink thought!

What I got today!

When I read last night on perfume shrine that L’artisan is going to discontinue Vanille Absolument I panicked! So, I bought it today first thing in the morning! This was in my full bottle wish list for a long time but it was quite expensive and that’s why I hadn’t bought it right away.

The first time I smelled it was in a small L’artisan boutique in France but I was backpacking and I was afraid that my precious will brake in transit… It still reminds me my trip in France when I smell it!

I love this! Is a light, clean vanilla. It’s not sweet but boozy and deep. The narcissus gives a golden quality to the blend as well. I am so happy that I finally have a big bottle of this!!
