Mimosa, neroli, coconut

Hi guys!
First of all thank you so much for all the kind words and the support! It means a lot to me and it makes me really happy!

As you know I have started blending my own perfumes and I have received very good feedback from the ladies that they have tried them.

This one in particular is my best seller. Not that I sell large quantities but even 10 is a lot for me because I bottle 10-12 perfumes every time to keep them fresh.

I had started blending this scent for one soap I used to make. A lovely customer of mine,Fotini, loved this scent so much and she wanted it as a perfume and I thought it was time for me to give it a go with perfume oils.

When you smell this from the bottle it has a lemony vibe mingled with the tropical coconut. The real deal happens when you put it on. It's tropical, sweet and zesty at the same time.

It's more of a Spring like fragrance when the Bergamot trees are in bloom. Perfect for a day walk outside or for when you need something fresh to start your day.
If you love Neroli this one it's for you!

A little goes a long way as it's very consentrated!
Unfortunately, this one will be limited.

BPAL- SONG OF NATURE IMPRESSIONS

BPAL SONG OF NATURE REVIEWS/THOUGHTS

I wanted to post a review on this for the first moment I got them from the mail but I couldn't make my mind in some of these if I really like them or not. The main reason I got these is the nature theme. I love the sea and I could stay just watching the weaves for hours.
I don't know if other perfumer have made scents inspired by the creatures of the sea again but I did find it very inspiring and original. I love the artwork as well. For the look of these bottles and the notes I realize that Beth put a lot of care into these.

  1. Desmonema: White amber and mimosa with tendrils of Italian bergamot, myrrh, green tangerine and green patchouli, sheer coconut, quince, and vetiver.

Demonema the giant jellyfish! When I first read the description, I found the combination of notes quite intriguing. The sourness of the tangerine, bergamot and quince, the sweetness of the coconut and the resinous amber and myrrh combined with the earthy patchouli and vetiver

From the Bottle: I get vetiver, patchouli and sour tangerine and bergamot. The bergamot here is strong and real. I love it

Wet: The vetiver is still very strong and makes the perfume very earthy and I don't know if this note is suitable for a jellyfish really. I see here why some people may not like this because vetiver doesn't have as many fans. The quince is a very clever addition and makes the whole sweeter.
This is a complex perfume and everytime I put my nose close to my wrist I smell something different.

Dry: The vetiver is getting softer now and the coconut becomes more obvious. I still get some sourness but isn't overpowering or annoying. The drydown is a green, powdery and a little bit sour patchouli

All in all I can't decide how I feel about this perfume but it's definitely unique!

2)Epibulia: East Indian Mango, cassis, blackcurrant, orange carnation, sugared coconut, and Maid of Orleans.

Belongs to the Siphonophores species. Similar to jellyfish. I got a half bottle of this because I love the smell of cassis and I was hoping that this will take me to France, where is possible to find anything with this fruit: Ice creams, liqueurs etc.. I still have a bottle of a liqueur which I use with white wine!

From the bottle: Mixed fruits and jasmine. It reminds me of a fruity bubblegum.

Wet: Mango, orange, jasmine.
The cassis and the red currant are there too but the jasmine and the coconut are taking over.

Dry: Drydown is a juicy jasmine with a hint of creaminess from the coconut.

Overall,it's a very nice summer scent. Nothing spectacular in my opinion as it does smell like a conventional perfume but I really enjoy wearing this when the weather is hot.

3)Octopus: Pale moss, white kelp, sea buckthorn berry, ambergris accord, Somalian frankincense, rose geranium, and salt.

How cool is to have an Octopus named perfume in your collection! Well I thought the same lol!
This is my favorite of the three perfumes I bought, When I smell this from the bottle is fresh and salty. On my skin it doesn't change too much. The strongest note is the aquatic / ambergris accord mixed with the rose geranium. It last at least three hours on me! It fits it's name perfectly and I love it!!!!!!

The Phoenix At Midday-BPAL

PERFUME: The Phoenix At Midday

COMPANY: BPAL

AVAILABILITY: BPAL Anniversary 2011

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: The blazing fires of nona hora: blood orange, mimosa, gingergrass, golden amber, saffron, tonka absolute, pomegranate, neroli, and bourbon geranium. This Phoenix embodies vitality, ferocity, determination, passion, and strength of will.

I wore this today because I had a job interview and I really needed determination and strength of will. Not that it was my dream job but anyway. The funny thing is that when I arrived to the office for the interview I never entered… It was in a neighbour with a very bad reputation and even if it was only 2 o’clock in the afternoon I was feeling so uncomfortable I decided to leave…. I could see only prostitutes, “red light” houses and junkies around me. Well, I am so glad I am home!

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE:  Red musk isn’t listed but I think I can smell it here. As well with the bourbon geranium (and lately I love that note!) and the Neroli. It’s very complex and every time I put the decant close to my nose I smell something else.

WET ON SKIN: This is a red colored oil by the way, very pretty!  Wet in my wrist is very juicy blood oranges and gingergrass. I continue to smell bourbon geranium.
It’s a citrusy blend but not a tart or a fresh one. The amber, the saffron and the tonka make this richer  and they give another dimension to the fruits.
The floral notes here are very faint except from the bourbon geranium.

DRY DOWN: Pomegranate and oranges. I am getting the light spice from the saffron and a hint of tonka. It stays that way for hours.
