OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION:Dried Arkansas black apple, opoponax, cypress, myrrh, tobacco absolute, quince, black musk, and galbanum.

BEFORE I SMELL: I don't always like apple scents especially if they are the clean kind. Although, sometimes I can't resist, it's the fruit of sin after all.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Flesh of baked apple and sweet raisins... A night garden with apple trees and burning incense...

WET ON SKIN: very sexy and musky. It's a different take on a fruity perfume. I don't smell the tobacco absolute.

DRY DOWN: The resins take over, I get a little bit of tobacco note and it's the sweet type, very nice. As it dries down I get more galbanum . It doesn't change that much but it has amazing staying power. I put it last night and I could smell it till the morning

FINAL THOUGHTS: Very well blended and different from other apple scents. I wish I had another decant

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION:The aftermath of piratical nuptials: walls smeared with red and black frosting, copious amounts of spilled red wine, the leftover contents of three full bars, dry leaves and desert flowers crushed into carpet, tobacco smoke, and champaca incense in a cloud of body-heat amped Snake Oil and Dorian.

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Sweet wine, tobacco and cake. I could smell it from the bottle for hours.. It's that good!

WET ON SKIN: It blooms on the skin. It's still alcoholic. The combination of alcohol, incense and the foodie notes works very well!  The champaca incense gives a great depth and smokiness.

I haven't smelt Dorian yet but the resins of Snake oil are quite apparent.

I also get a cocoa note maybe that's the black frosting.

It's sweet, it's sexy , it's comforting.... It has it all actually!

It last hours on me as well. Perfection!

FINAL THOUGHTS: I love this and I bought a bottle right after I tried my decant. Actually, sometimes I wish I had bought 2! If you ever have a chance to buy this please do! You won't regret it!

Black Forest-Solstice Scents

Happy Valentines Day!

It doesn’t matter if you are not in love or if you don’t want to be with someone. To me this day is all about love! Love to your parents, friends, pets, yourself! It’s just the perfect reason to celebrate, eat chocolate, wear something red and your favorite Valentine inspired perfume!

Today, I am going to wear the same perfume as last year:  Black Forest from Solstice Scents! Before I tried this perfume I could swear that I hated cherrynotes! Even today they remind me a cough syrup. I got a sample of this and from first sniff I was in Love!  Angela did her magic again!

The picture is from a Black forest that I made last year. Today, my boyfriend isn’t so lucky as I didn’t had time to make one. I just bought us handmade white chocolate bars with cranberry!! Yum!

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: Agarwood, Nagarmotha EO, Tobacco Absolute, Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Cocoa Absolute, Maraschino Cherries, Black Cherries, Hay Absolute, Sandalwood EO, Whipped Cream & a drop of Pink Peppercorn Essential Oil

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Cherry liquor and cocoa. Addictively good.

WET ON SKIN:  Cocoa absolute with milk chocolate. The cherry is prominent but like I said it remind me cherry liquor. The woodiness from the agarwood and Nagarmotha goes exceptionally well with the cherries and chocolate notes.  You can tell that she used high quality ingredients in this perfume. Some chocolate fragrances, they just don’t feel right and the dry to something like vanilla but not this one!

 In this scent all the elements are blended together very well to make an awesome blend.

DRY DOWN: I can smell this for hours when I wear it. I get chocolate and tobacco whiffs now and then and I really enjoy it!

Scent of the day, DAY 8!

PERFUME: Feast of Fools

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: The ancient Roman festival of Saturnalia was full of partying, self-indulgence, and disturbingly savage rituals. Smoked honey, Atlas cedar wood, pipe tobacco, peppercorn, caramel, and milky musk.

BEFORE I SMELL: I like all things Roman. A scent that would transport me in an ancient roman festival would be great!

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Smoked honey. I get something like a burning wood but sweeter. The tobacco is really apparent and very dry.

WET ON SKIN: Smoky woods and tobacco with a hint of caramel.

DRY DOWN: This scent is Smoky from start to finish! On dry down a get the milky musk and it adds a “fresh” element to the whole.

FINAL THOUGHTS: I Found what I will wear tonight! Very nice scent if you like smoky perfumes!
