Nocturne Alchemy-Eternal Egypt

PERFUME: Eternal Egypt

COMPANY: Nocturne Alchemy

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION: White Amber, Red Egyptian Musk, Egyptian Amber, Sands of Egypt

BEFORE I SMELL:  The lovely Rachel from the Brighter Star of All blog sent me this while ago. Actually, she done a great job picking scents for me because I loved every single one of them!

I am new to Nocturne Alchemy. I do have two bottles which I bought on Live Journal very cheap. I think 5usd per bottle! I really like what I have tried from them and I would love to try more but I seem to always buy from the same companies over and over again. I don’t know why I do that. Sometimes I am thinking that my perfume habits are like I pay a subscription!

FROM THE DECANT/BOTTLE: Amber and Egyptian musk. It has also an element that reminds me the aroma that comes from the pot when I am cooking basmati rice but here it’s sweeter.

WET ON SKIN: The amber is getting stronger. I detect a floral note as well but it’s on the background
.
DRY DOWN: Amber and musk. It stays close to the skin. In my opinion this perfume is perfect for when you want something subtle or when you are around to people who are sensitive to perfumes.

FINAL THOUGHTS: I like it and If I ever purchase from them I may grab a bottle!

IF YOU LIKE THIS YOU WILL LIKE:   Solstice Scents-Pharaoh but I like the one from NA better.

  1. I had a full bottle of this that I sold off on eBay. It was a nice scent. NA has some really good musk/amber/incense scents but I have noticed that they turn a bit off as they age especially in the glass vials. But my full bottles which are coloured and get protected from light are not spoilt.

    1. I saw your post about this when I was writting my review. Maybe it's the base that they are using to dilute their fragrances that doesn't age well. I remember that Dee had posted about this while back.
The one that I really like from them is Nocturne: kobalt Bleu. It's a very nice musky vanilla scent.

  2. I have a bit of a mixed experience with musk... so I don´t know if this is one for me. But I plan to order samples from Nocturne Alchemy some day! As a former egyptology student I am drawn to scents inspired by Ancient Egypt!

    1. If you order samples I would love to hear your opinion on them. I wish the international shipping wasn't as high for perfumes...Everytime I see something from them that I want it's the shipping cost that puts me of.
I am fascinated by Ancient Egypt too but sometimes it's just too much for me. I think I prefer bpal's or possets diversity. A little bit of everything!

  3. Aww, it was so cool to hear your thoughts on this! ❤ I wish I knew how to decant so I could send you some of my bottle of Cemetary Snow. It's by their sister company, VApothecary. One thing I like about these companies (Nocturne Alchemy and VApothecary) is that it really seems like the owners are passionate about what they do. When I emailed them, the owner said one of them was across the country on a hunt for oils. So that was pretty cool!

    1. This is what I love about indie perfumers! Their passion about scents. While ago I saw in a description of one of their scents that it contained greek vanilla pods or something like that. I was so surprised I didn't know that we had vanilla here!
